Lubna Ashraf at LSE gallery

Lubna Ashraf, alumnus of the London School of Economics, will show her latest paintings at the university’s Atrium Gallery, Old Building, 2 September – 4 October 2013.

The exhibition, titled The world, so rich, of what the artist describes as “large” paintings portrays faces from Pakistan, Afghanistan, The Kingdom of Lesotho and The Gambia. The paintings are “all tied together by ideas which are fundamental to life and this world – diversity, colour, attitude, culture and age. They reflect on how beautiful and rich the world heritage is.

“Bright colours, distinct expressions and a signature striped-painted effect resonate through all of her paintings,” says an LSE notice.

Natural clay sculptures and a selection of other works completed by Lubna Ashraf will also be on display.

Lubna Ashraf describes herself as a British Pakistani, resident in London. Buy a link on this page.
