Picturing Ceylon in Sarasota

Picturing Ceylon is the title of a new special exhibition, 16 August 2013 – 5 January 2014, at the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida. The name “Ceylon” conjures images of a tropical paradise of tea plantations and palm trees, not only for us in the 21 century, but also for photographers of the late nineteenth century.
